From language,
into practice.
I’m Mingkai, a computing and translation student, and co-founder of CreaTrades. I build language and creative tools, then ask what changes when people use them.

From idea
to useful tool.
Things I’ve put into the world.
Three connected threads: making tools, studying interaction, and learning through practice.

From a product brief to a creative workflow.
A multimodal workspace for e-commerce teams. I lead backend development and product direction.
Less searching.
More understanding.
The right cue, at the right moment.
Real-time subtitles and trigger-based highlighting for simultaneous interpreting research.

Building with language, learning through systems.
Translation platforms, a Vietnamese–Chinese corpus, and an AI speaking-practice product.
A path shaped by making.

Learning across disciplines
Translation and Interpreting at GDUFS, Computing at MPU. Two ways of approaching the same question: what does someone need to understand, and what can a system help them do?

Making ideas tangible
Summer programmes at HKU and NTU opened up new ways to work with AI and virtual worlds. Full-stack development at Keenpower brought those interests into deployed software.

Building tools for people
Echoo, language-learning platforms and AI product work brought interface choices, data quality and real tasks into focus. Yakky grew from the need for affordable speaking practice.

From working products to better questions
At CreaTrades, I connect product direction with the engineering needed to support real workflows. I now want to study how creative agents should respond when a person changes their mind.
